Visit us on Care Home Open Day

Friday 19th June 2015 1pm to 4pm

Continuing our commitment to make Hazeldene House a place where nice things happen, we are opening our doors to the public for Care Homes Open Day on Friday 19th June from 1pm to 4pm. Visitors will be able to meet staff and residents, enjoy entertainment and have refreshments in the garden (weather permitting). We will also be running a Tombola, where visitors can win a prize and raise funds for Age UK.

Children are very welcome and at 2.30pm they can help us unveil our new family play and picnic area with special guest, June Crowhurst, Chair of Pembury Parish Council. There will also be a Teddy Bears Picnic as well as games and activities for children to enjoy.

The play area initiative, along with a Family Corner, with books, toys and a chalk board, are all part of our aim to ensure that when new residents move in, their extended family, friends and neighbours all feel welcome to visit, It also give families an opportunity to occupy their younger members when they attend ‘room warming parties’ and other celebrations that ensure our residents feel really at home here.

We also run a ‘Volunteer Buddy’ Scheme through which we have enjoyed welcoming volunteers from all age groups and walks of life and proved how valuable a visit from a new local friend can be to the wellbeing of residents.
